LOS ANGELES, Aug. 11, 2015 — Summer is in full swing and people everywhere are getting together to fire up the grill and jump in the pool. But the number of BBQ/pool parties you get invited to may depend on where you live. Evite, (www.evite.com), the leading digital service for bringing people together, today announced the Top 10 U.S. cities for the highest number of BBQ/pool party invitations sent. The company, which recently sent its 2 billionth event invitation, analyzed the number of guests invited to BBQ/pool parties using Evite in 39 metro areas across the United States in 2014.
Evite found that the city with the highest distinct number of guests invited to BBQ/pool parties was Austin, Texas with 197,617 invitations sent, followed closely by Atlanta, Ga. (191,139 invitations) and Seattle, Wash. (190,184 invitations).
When indexed against the city’s total population, Evite found the highest number of invitees per capita went to the Washington, D.C.metro area, with 27% of its population receiving invitations to a BBQ/pool party. Residents of Seattle received the second highest number of invitations per capita (23%), while Atlanta and Austin tied for third highest at 21%.
